Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What are stem cells? What are their characteristics?
Stem cells are a type of cells with self-renewal and multi-directional differentiation capabilities (referring to the ability to differentiate into multiple cell types). Under specific conditions, they can differentiate into various functional cells. They possess self-renewal, multi-directional differentiation, and secretion of multiple active factors, which can repair and regulate body tissues.
What type of stem cells do you transplant? What is the cell source?
The type of stem cells we use are neonatal umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells.
Is stem cell transplantation safe? Can it cause tumors? Is matching required?
The safety of stem cell transplantation depends on two important aspects:
First, the safety of the cells themselves. Mesenchymal stem cells are one of the most well-researched stem cells to date. Based on our clinical research and existing treatment experience, mesenchymal stem cells are the safest type, with no antigenicity or tumorigenic risk. Up to now, we have treated more than 16,000 patients with various diseases, and no cases of cancer caused by stem cell transplantation have been found.
Second, our stem cells are sourced from China's largest stem cell laboratory with extremely strict donor screening criteria. So you don't need to worry about this. Due to the extremely low antigenicity of mesenchymal stem cells, no matching is required before transplantation. (This is different from hematopoietic stem cells.)
How long does it take to see results after stem cell transplantation? What about long-term effects?
Treatment outcomes vary from person to person. Different physical constitutions, sensitivities, and needs will lead to different results. Generally speaking, results can be seen in about one month, and some patients may need a longer time. The long-term effects also vary for different diseases. Simply put, for non-progressive diseases such as cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and cerebral hemorrhage, the long-term effects are relatively ideal and will not recur; while for progressive diseases such as multiple system atrophy and motor neuron disease, the long-term effects are not ideal, and symptoms may gradually worsen over time.

What diseases can you treat? Who cannot undergo stem cell treatment? How do I know if I am suitable for treatment?
Stem cells are mainly targeted at central nervous system diseases. The diseases we can currently treat include but are not limited to: cerebral palsy, sequelae of spinal cord injury, sequelae of traumatic brain injury, sequelae of encephalitis, multiple system atrophy, Parkinson's disease, consciousness disorders caused by central nervous system damage due to food or drug poisoning, dementia, movement disorders, autism, and other neurological diseases.
Exclusion criteria for stem cell treatment:
1) Presence of shock or systemic failure vital signs;
2) Uncontrollable infectious diseases such as AIDS, syphilis, etc.;
3) Those with a history of severe allergies, and those allergic to cell preparations;
4) Systemic infection or severe local infection;
5) Severe insufficiency of important organs such as heart, lung, liver, kidney, etc.;
6) Coagulation disorders such as hemophilia;
7) Pregnant and lactating women;
8) Other diseases deemed unsuitable by doctors.

How many days does one course of treatment take? How many injections are needed in one course?
Depending on the patient's condition, the duration of one course of treatment varies slightly, ranging from 10 to 15 days. Each patient receives approximately 2-4 injections during one course of treatment.
Can stem cell transplantation cure cerebral palsy? Can epileptic patients receive treatment?
Stem cell transplantation achieves therapeutic purposes by repairing and reconstructing damaged brain tissue and restoring its functions. Since stem cells repair damaged brain tissue rather than treat directly, it only improves the patient's brain nerve function on the basis of the original condition. Epileptic patients can receive treatment, and their epileptic seizures may be reduced or disappear after treatment.
When is the best time to perform stem cell transplantation after spinal cord injury? Can one course of treatment cure it?
Generally speaking, stem cell transplantation can be considered about one month after the acute phase of trauma. From our clinical treatment experience, the earlier the treatment, the better the effect. There are literature reports that stem cell transplantation can be performed two weeks after trauma or surgery. For patients with severe spinal cord injury, 3-4 courses of treatment may be needed to achieve good results.
Can stem cell transplantation cure diabetes? Can I get rid of insulin after treatment?
Stem cell transplantation can alleviate diabetes but cannot cure it completely. Its biggest advantage is its ability to repair damaged tissues and organs, repair damaged tissues, and promote angiogenesis. Among the patients we have treated, some have reduced dependence on insulin, and even some patients can stop using insulin completely after treatment.
What is the mechanism of action of stem cell transplantation in treating stroke?
Based on our clinical experience, the duration of stroke (cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage), the severity of the condition, and the health status of other important organs will all affect the treatment effect. Among the patients we have treated, the longest course of disease is 14 years. Generally speaking, the earlier the treatment after onset, the more obvious the effect. Most patients have varying degrees of improvement during hospitalization, specifically manifested as reduced muscle tone, improved limb muscle strength and blood circulation, enhanced language ability, etc.
What transplantation methods do you use for treatment? Is there any pain?
Our current transplantation methods include: intravenous injection, lumbar puncture, CT-guided intraspinal stem cell transplantation, and interventional transplantation. Depending on the transplantation method, such as intravenous infusion, there is almost no pain and no anesthesia is required.
Are there any risks of stem cell transplantation? Are there any side effects?

Strictly speaking, any medical procedure carries certain risks, and stem cell transplantation is no exception. However, among the 16,000 patients we have treated, no serious side effects have occurred. A small number of patients may experience temporary reactions such as fever and headache after transplantation, but these symptoms will subside spontaneously within 2-3 days.

How long do I need to stay in the hospital after treatment? How long can I receive rehabilitation treatment?

Generally speaking, patients can be discharged from the hospital after resting for 1-2 days. We recommend that patients start rehabilitation treatment about two weeks after surgery.

Who reviews the medical information we provide?

The medical consultation team of our hospital is responsible for collecting relevant reports. All materials will be submitted to our experts for review. Usually, our experts will provide a detailed evaluation report and treatment plan within 1-3 working days.

Does stem cell transplantation have an improving effect on male sexual function?

Stem cells have a certain improving effect on male sexual function. Specific manifestations include prolonged erection time, increased hardness, delayed ejaculation time, etc.

What rehabilitation programs are available at your rehabilitation center?

The rehabilitation center has an excellent environment and is equipped with advanced rehabilitation equipment. We provide rehabilitation programs related to physical therapy (occupational therapy, spectrum therapy, low-frequency therapy, paraffin therapy, air pressure therapy, etc.) and traditional Chinese medicine therapy (acupuncture, massage, moxibustion, etc.).

Please introduce the inpatient department in detail. Is there wireless network available?

We provide VIP wards for international patients, which are equipped with private facilities such as independent bathrooms. The main equipment includes: 2 hospital beds, 2 chairs, refrigerator, microwave oven, water dispenser. We provide free wireless network for visitors and patients.

What is the cost of treatment? What items are included?

The patient's condition and surgical method will affect the treatment cost. You need to consult our experts to obtain a detailed treatment plan and cost breakdown.

What payment methods are available?
